Horn

Glaciers and Ice Sheets

A steep, sharply pointed mountain peak carved where three or more glacial cirques erode a mountain from different sides simultaneously, cutting back toward its center until only a narrow pyramidal summit remains standing above them. The Matterhorn in the Alps is the classic type example this landform is named for.
