Nanaimo is a city on the east coast of Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada, on the western shores of Nanaimo Harbour, for which it is known as the Harbour City. It is also called the Hub City, both for its original street layout radiating from the shoreline and for its relatively central location on Vancouver Island, and serves as headquarters of the Regional District of Nanaimo.
