Norfolk County, Ontario

Norfolk County is a rural single-tier municipality on the north shore of Lake Erie in Southwestern Ontario, Canada, with a 2023 population of 73,015. Despite its name, it is no longer a county in the formal sense, since all municipal services are handled by a single level of government. The largest community within Norfolk County is Simcoe, whose 2021 population was 16,121, with other population centres including Port Dover, Delhi, Waterford and Port Rowan among many smaller communities. For several years in the late 20th century the county was merged with Haldimand County, but the merged entity was dissolved in 2000.
