Sisimiut is a town on the coast of the Davis Strait in central-western Greenland, about 320 kilometers north of the capital Nuuk, within the Kingdom of Denmark's autonomous territory. It is the capital and largest town of the Qeqqata municipality and the second-largest settlement in Greenland, serving as the largest business center north of Nuuk and the northernmost year-round ice-free port in the country. Archaeological evidence shows the site has been inhabited for about 4,500 years, beginning with the Saqqaq culture; as of 2025 it had 5,526 residents.
