Choloma is a city and municipality in Honduras's Cortes department, south of Puerto Cortes and north of San Pedro Sula, and is the third largest city in Honduras with a municipal population of 296,952 at a 2023 projection, of which about 220,300 lived in the urban area. Its economy rests heavily on factories drawn by low labour costs, including many transnational companies operating in the country's tax-free zones.
