FAQs

Is Blue Mountains National Park the same as the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area?

No. It is one of the eight protected areas that make up the Greater Blue Mountains Area.

No. The Greater Blue Mountains Area, inscribed on the World Heritage List in 2000, covers about 1.03 million hectares and is made up of eight protected areas: seven adjacent national parks and a single karst conservation reserve. Blue Mountains National Park is one of them. Together with Wollemi and Kanangra-Boyd National Parks it forms the three reserves that make up 80 percent of the World Heritage property.

Do you have to pay to enter Blue Mountains National Park?

The page lists an entry fee only at Glenbrook area attractions: 8 dollars per vehicle per day.

Only in one part of the park. The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service page for the park says it is always open, though it may close at times because of poor weather or fire danger. The only entry fee it lists is 8 dollars per vehicle per day, which applies only at attractions in the Glenbrook area. Fees can change, so check the park page before you visit.
