Home›Protected Areas›Managing Authority›Parks CanadaBrowse ByParks CanadaThis dimension names the specific agency or organization that manages a protected area day to day, as distinct from who merely governs its legal status. Wikipedia notes that the term also "includes marine protected areas and transboundary protected areas across multiple borders," and a transboundary area in particular may need more than one managing authority working together. Browsing by managing authority groups areas run by the same body across the atlas.FactsParks CanadaConnectionsSourcesComments (0)Reader Challenges (0)FactsComparisonClassification AuthorityWell-attestedIUCN Protected Area Management Categories 1Parks CanadaFilter Results16 entriesIUCN CategoryAllNational Parks of North America (15)Protected Areas with Sustainable Use of Natural Resources (World) (1)National Designation TypeAllII (1)National Park (4)ContinentAllNorth America (16)CountryAllCanada (5)Establishment EraAll1885 (1)1930 (1)2019 (1)Area BandAll2967.700000 (1)6641.000000 (1)14070.000000 (1)44741.000000 (1)Governance TypeAllGovernance by Government (16)Marine or TerrestrialAllCoastal (Marine and Terrestrial) (2)Terrestrial (12)International DesignationAllRamsar Site (Wetland of International Importance) (1)UNESCO Biosphere Reserve (1)UNESCO World Heritage Site (8)Show ResultsBrowseCompareSelect all 16Auyuittuq National ParkParks CanadaBanff National ParkParks CanadaElk Island National ParkParks CanadaGros Morne National ParkParks CanadaJasper National ParkParks CanadaKluane National Park and ReserveParks CanadaKootenay National ParkParks CanadaNahanni National Park ReserveParks CanadaPacific Rim National Park ReserveParks CanadaPoint Pelee National ParkParks CanadaPrince Edward Island National ParkParks CanadaRiding Mountain National ParkParks CanadaThaidene Nëné National Park ReserveParks CanadaTorngat Mountains National ParkParks CanadaWood Buffalo National ParkParks CanadaYoho National ParkParks CanadaConnectionsShowing the first 400 of 828 connections.Sources1.
