Monsoon Forest

Rainforests and Tropical Landscapes

A tropical forest landscape adapted to a climate with a pronounced wet and dry season, in which many trees shed their leaves during the dry months rather than remaining evergreen year-round as in a true rainforest. Monsoon forests are typical of South and Southeast Asia, where the seasonal monsoon rains punctuate an otherwise dry annual cycle.
