Watershed

River Basins and Drainage Basins

The ridge or elevated boundary that separates one drainage basin from an adjacent one, determining which side a given drop of rainfall will eventually flow toward. In common usage the term is also applied to the drainage basin itself, the whole catchment area whose boundary the watershed line marks.
