Volcanic Plug

Rock Formations and Monoliths

A steep, isolated tower of solidified magma that once filled the central vent of a volcano, left standing prominently above the surrounding land once the softer surrounding volcanic cone has eroded away entirely. Devils Tower in Wyoming is among the most recognized examples of this landform anywhere in the world.
