The Bellingshausen Sea is a marginal sea along the west side of the Antarctic Peninsula, bordering the Eights Coast, the Bryan Coast and the western English Coast of Antarctica. To its west it joins the Amundsen Sea. It covers about 487,000 square kilometers, reaches a maximum depth of 4.5 kilometers, and contains the undersea Bellingshausen Plain.
