Porvenir, Pando

Porvenir is a small town in Nicolas Suarez Province in the Pando Department of Bolivia, at an elevation of 222 meters, about 33 kilometers south of Cobija, the departmental capital. It sits on the left bank of the Tahuamanu River, which further downstream is called the Orthon River before it empties into the Beni River. The town's population grew nearly fivefold over two decades, from 910 residents in 1992 to 4,267 in 2012.
