Puerto Carreno

Puerto Carreno is the capital of Vichada Department in the Orinoquia region of Colombia, at the confluence of the Orinoco and Meta rivers, which form the border with Venezuela. The 2018 census recorded approximately 20,936 residents, about 54 percent of them indigenous. Set amid flat llanos plains, the city is known for peacock bass fishing, indigenous handicrafts, and agricultural products such as cashew and mango, and it has been developing as an ecotourism destination.
