Azogues is a city in southern Ecuador and the capital of both Azogues Canton and Cañar Province. It sits in the Andes at an elevation of about 2,518 meters, with a population of roughly 35,763 at the 2022 census. The city is known for its Panama hat weaving industry and traces its founding to 1562, when Gil Ramirez Davalos established the settlement.
