Loja

Loja is a city in southern Ecuador and the capital of Loja Province, set in the Cuxibamba valley. It had a population of about 203,496 at the 2022 census and sits at an elevation of roughly 2,060 meters. Known as the Music and Cultural Capital of Ecuador, the city hosts two major universities and has a longstanding tradition in the arts, tracing its founding to 1548.
