Ciudad del Este

Paraguay's second-largest city and the capital of Alto Parana Department, on the Parana River 327 kilometers east of the capital Asuncion and adjoining the Brazilian border, connected across the river by the Friendship Bridge. It is the largest city in the Triple Frontier region bordering Foz do Iguacu, Brazil and Puerto Iguazu, Argentina, and lies near both the Itaipu Dam, one of the world's largest hydroelectric plants, and Iguazu Falls.
