Pisco is a city on the southern coast of Peru, in the Department of Ica, and is the capital of Pisco Province, lying about nine meters above sea level. Founded in 1640 near an earlier indigenous settlement of the same name, it prospered from nearby vineyards and became known for the grape brandy, pisco, exported through its port. Its estimated population was 104,656 in 2015.
