Thocnia

Southern Europe

Thocnia, also spelled Thoknia or Thocneia, was a town of ancient Arcadia in Greece, in the district of Parrhasia, situated on a height above the river Aminius, a tributary of the Helisson which itself feeds the Alpheius. It was said to have been founded by Thocnus, a son of Lycaon, and had been deserted by the time of the geographer Pausanias, its inhabitants having relocated to Megalopolis.
