Urci was an ancient settlement in southeastern Roman Hispania, in what is now Spain, recorded by the classical writers Pomponius Mela, Pliny the Elder and Claudius Ptolemy. Their accounts place it in the lower basin of the Almanzora River near the present-day town of Villaricos, though some modern historians have mistakenly located it at other nearby sites. Tradition holds that the first-century missionary Saint Indaletius evangelized the town and became its first bishop, and Urci remains a titular diocese of the Catholic Church today.
