Vlore is the third most populous city in Albania and the seat of Vlore County and Vlore Municipality. It lies in southwestern Albania on the Bay of Vlore, surrounded by the foothills of the Ceraunian Mountains along the Albanian Adriatic and Ionian Sea coasts, and has a Mediterranean climate shaped by those mountains and by its closeness to the Mediterranean Sea.
