Western Africa

Western Africa is one of the United Nations M49 standard geoscheme's statistical subregions, the numeric regional and subregional classification the UN Statistics Division maintains to produce consistent country and area aggregates for demographic, economic and other statistical reporting across UN data series. This subcategory anchors the atlas's city-type entities whose part-of country falls within the Western Africa subregion, mirroring the atlas's existing country-type Western Africa subcategory that already uses the identical UN M49 classification.
