Chalcetor

Western Asia

Chalcetor, or Chalketor, was a town of ancient Caria near modern Karakuyu in Mugla Province, Turkey. A member of the Delian League, it united with Euromus in the second century BCE and later entered a sympolity, or shared citizenship, with Mylasa. The site held a temple to Apollo, and excavation has recovered tombs, sarcophagi, and inscriptions.
