Catete

Catete is a municipality in Angola that became the capital of Icolo e Bengo Province when that province was created in 2024, having previously been a commune within Icolo e Bengo municipality in Luanda Province. It had 23,284 residents at the 2014 census and lies between the Bengo River to the north and the Cuanza River to the south, on fertile alluvial plains known for their black soils and cotton farming.
