Ondjiva

Ondjiva, formerly Vila Pereira d'Eca, is a town in the far south of Angola, in Cunene Province, about 26 miles from the Namibian border, and serves as the provincial capital. It was traditionally the seat of the Ovambo king of the Oukwanyama and had a commune population of 187,914 in the 2014 census. The town was largely destroyed during the Angolan Civil War, falling to fewer than 5,000 residents by 1999, and has been rebuilt since 2002.
