Ghanzi is a town in the middle of the Kalahari Desert in the western part of Botswana. The surrounding region is known within the country for its beef industry, with Ghanzi farmers providing about 75 percent of national beef exports, primarily to the United Kingdom and the European Union, according to the Botswana Meat Commission.
