Mathangwane is a village in Botswana's Central District, administered under the Tutume Sub-district Council, about 25 kilometers west of Francistown along the A3 highway. It lies at the confluence of the Shashe and Vukwi rivers, mostly on the left bank of the Shashe, and had a population of 5,075 recorded in the 2011 census. Its numerous river valleys, formed mainly by tributaries of the Shashe, traditionally serve as natural boundaries for the village's community wards, known locally as dikgotlana.
