Inongo is the capital of Mai-Ndombe Province in the western Democratic Republic of the Congo, with an estimated population of about 45,159 as of 2009. The town is divided into the communes of Bonse, Mpolo and Mpongonzoli and sits in a tropical monsoon region where Lingala is widely spoken. It is served by Inongo Airport and is home to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Inongo.
