Sikasso is a city in southern Mali and the capital of both Sikasso Cercle and Sikasso Region. It is Mali's second-largest city, with 225,753 residents recorded at the 2009 census, and serves as a major trading center; it was formerly the capital of the Kenedougou Kingdom between 1877 and 1898.
