Yenagoa is a Local Government Area and the capital of Bayelsa State in Nigeria's Niger Delta region, with an estimated 2024 population of 798,466. The Ijaw people form the majority of its residents, and the city is home to Bayelsa International Airport, which received its first flight in February 2019, and to the Bayelsa United and Bayelsa Queens football clubs.
