City of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality

The City of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality is a metropolitan municipality that forms the local government of the East Rand region of Gauteng province, South Africa, a large suburban region east of Johannesburg. It is one of the five districts of Gauteng and one of South Africa's eight metropolitan municipalities, with its administrative seat at Germiston. The area is home to OR Tambo International Airport, South Africa's busiest airport, located in the Kempton Park area of Ekurhuleni. The name Ekurhuleni means place of peace in the Xitsonga language.
