El Fasher is a city in western Sudan and the capital of North Darfur State in the Darfur region, located about 195 kilometers northeast of Nyala. A historical caravan post at an elevation of roughly 700 meters, it serves as an agricultural marketing center for the cereals and fruit grown in the surrounding region and is linked by road to Geneina and Umm Keddada.
