Sousse is a city in Tunisia and capital of the Sousse Governorate, located about 140 kilometers south of the capital Tunis on the Gulf of Hammamet, part of the Mediterranean Sea. It had 271,428 inhabitants at the 2014 census. Its economy rests on transport equipment manufacturing, processed food, olive oil, textiles and tourism, and it is home to the Universite de Sousse.
