Chust is a city in Namangan Region, Uzbekistan, in the Fergana Valley, and is among the oldest towns in the valley at more than 3,500 years old. It is famed across Central Asia for a distinctive style of handmade knife, the Chust knife or pichak, whose production by craftsmen known as suzangars traces back to around the 8th century BC, and for its traditional embroidered skullcaps.
