Niger River

Rivers

The Niger is the main river of West Africa, rising in the Guinea Highlands of southeastern Guinea and flowing through Mali, Niger, Benin and Nigeria before discharging through the Niger Delta into the Gulf of Guinea. Its middle course passes the historic trading city of Timbuktu and the Malian capital Bamako, both sited on its banks.
