Adana is a large city in southern Turkey, situated on the Seyhan River about 35 kilometers inland from the Mediterranean coast, and is the administrative seat of Adana Province with a metro population of over 1.8 million. Long an agricultural and trading hub for the fertile Cukurova plain, Adana is known for its distinctive spicy kebab, its Roman-era stone bridge over the Seyhan, and its role as a regional industrial and transport center.
