Adony is a town in Fejer County in central Hungary, within the Dunaujvaros District, whose name derives from the old Hungarian personal name Odun, first recorded in 1332. Formerly known as Duna-Adony, and called Adam in German and Vetus Salina or Vetusallum in Latin, the town maintains sister-city relationships with municipalities in Germany, Poland and Romania.
