Agora, also known as Cherronesos, was an ancient Greek town on the Thracian Chersonese, the modern Gallipoli peninsula in European Turkey, tentatively identified near modern Bolayır. Founded as an Athenian colony between 561 and 556 BCE, it became a member of the Delian League and was ruled by a series of tyrants, and Miltiades the Elder built a defensive wall across the isthmus to protect it from invasion. Xerxes passed through the town during his invasion of Greece in 480 BCE.
