Agrinium, also called Agrinion, was a town of ancient Aetolia in Greece, situated toward the northwest of the region near the Achelous River. It allied with the Acarnanians in 314 BC when Cassander marched to their aid against the Aetolians, but after Cassander returned to Macedonia the Aetolians besieged Agrinium, forced its surrender, and executed many of its inhabitants.
