Al-Buraimi is an oasis city in northern Oman, capital of Al Buraimi Governorate, about 343 kilometers from Muscat and bordering the United Arab Emirates city of Al Ain, with a 2020 census population of 92,223. The area has roughly 3,000 years of history spanning the Bat and Umm Al Nar civilizations, and holds around 49 traditional aflaj irrigation systems along with landmarks including Al-Khandaq Fort and Al-Hillah Fort; it also serves as a commercial hub near Jebel Hafeet mountain.
