Albertirsa is a town in Pest County, Hungary, in the middle of the Great Hungarian Plain, with 12,212 inhabitants as of January 2015 across 72.96 square kilometers. It was formed in 1950 by the merger of two separate settlements, Alberti and Irsa, and was granted official town status on July 1, 2003. Albertirsa is home to Hungary's first 750 kilovolt substation, inaugurated in 1979, which connects a major power line from Ukraine.
