Anactorium, also called Anaktorion, was an ancient town in Acarnania in western Greece, on a promontory on the Ambraciot Gulf, the first town encountered in Acarnania after Actium. Jointly colonized by Corinth and Corcyra, it fell under sole Corinthian control by fraud during a war between the two cities in 432 BCE, and was taken from Corinth by the Acarnanians with Athenian help in 425 BCE. The emperor Augustus later resettled its inhabitants in his new city of Nicopolis across the gulf, and its site is now identified near modern Nea Kamarina.
