Anyang is a city in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea, with a population of approximately 600,000, making it the twentieth largest city in the country. It functions as a satellite city of Seoul, situated about 21 kilometers south of the capital and 19 kilometers north of Suwon, and is connected to Seoul by the Seoul Subway Line 1 and Line 4. The city's motto is Livable City, Proud Citizens, and its symbols include a grape mascot named Podong-i, the forsythia flower, the ginkgo tree and the eagle.
