Ar-Ramtha is a city in the far northwest of Jordan, near the border with Syria, about 30 kilometers northeast of the Jordan River and Irbid. With a population of approximately 164,211 in 2017, it was the eleventh-largest city in Jordan and the second-largest in Irbid Governorate, and is the seat of the Ar-Ramtha district.
