Armidale is a city in the Northern Tablelands of New South Wales, Australia, roughly midway between Sydney and Brisbane at the junction of the New England Highway and Waterfall Way. It had a population of 23,967 at the 2021 census and serves as the administrative centre for the Northern Tablelands. The city is a rural university town, home to the University of New England, and lies within the New England Renewable Energy Zone.
