Arzashkun, also spelled Arsashkun, was the capital of the early kingdom of Urartu in the ninth century BC, before King Sarduri I moved the capital to Tushpa in 832 BC. The city had double walls and towers, and was captured by the Assyrian king Shalmaneser III in the 850s BC.
