Asturica Augusta was a Roman city corresponding to the present-day Spanish city of Astorga, in the province of León. It was founded around 14 BC as a camp of the Legio X Gemina, and by the early first century had developed into a civil center and the capital of the Asturicense conventus iuridicus within the province of Tarraconensis.
