Atrax, also called Atracia, was a Perrhaebian town and polis in ancient Thessaly. Livy described it as situated above the river Peneius, about ten miles from Larissa, and Strabo places it on the Peneius downstream of Tricca, Pelinnaeum and Pharcadon on the course of the river toward Larissa. A catalogue of theorodokoi from Epidaurus, dated 363 to 359 BCE, records the ethnic name of the town in the form Adrakos.
