Bad Reichenhall is a spa town and administrative center of the Berchtesgadener Land district in Upper Bavaria, Germany, located near Salzburg in a basin encircled by the Chiemgau Alps. It takes part with other alpine towns in the Alpine Town of the Year Association, working toward the Alpine Convention's sustainable-development goals, and was itself named Alpine Town of the Year in 2001.
