Bajram Curri is a town and administrative unit in the municipality of Tropojë in northeastern Albania, in the Gjakova Highlands near the Kosovo border. It sits in the remote, mountainous Valbonë Valley of the Albanian Alps. Originally named Kolgecaj, the settlement was renamed in 1952 in honor of Bajram Curri, an Albanian national hero who resisted both Ottoman and later Albanian government forces on behalf of ethnic Albanians.
