A prefecture-level city in central Hebei province, China, about 150 kilometers southwest of Beijing, whose Zhuozhou district has grown into part of the Beijing metropolitan area. Its 2020 census population of 11,544,036 accounted for roughly one-sixth of Hebei province's population and ranked it seventh among Chinese cities with over ten million residents, though its resident population had fallen to about 9,046,200 by the end of 2024.
